Raw and Real conversation
Hey friends,
I want to share a weird weird observation about my clients.
Every single person I ghostwrite for, every single one of them, is a writer.
They publish consistently on their social media, and now have gone on to hire me to write their respective books for them.
And I find it weird yet awesome, both at the same time.
Here is why:
They did not wait for “getting a ghostwriter” before they could build their personal brand. They just started.
When they started, they discovered me on LinkedIn and Twitter (most of them do not even follow me, just discovered my content) and we ended up working together.
They wrote to express themselves, and when they saw someone else (yours truly) is doing a better job at it and is a professional, which led to us starting our conversations.
When they started writing, I am sure that is when they would have discovered in the process that it was good to write their book, or someone would have nudged them to write one.
They understood the power of delegation of something that was important to them but they also had to take care of their business/company, so they found a way to nourish their inner expressive self, and we started working together.
Sorry if this sounded like a brag, but all I wanted to share with you was this:
There is no way you cannot make your dream happen. All I wanted to do ever since I started writing was write books. Now I do that day in and day out.
You have to understand not everyone is your target audience. I write books for 3 clients every quarter and that is more than enough. All you have to do is solve a problem for a viable audience and be the best in world at it.
In order to make your dreams come true, you have to make sure you continue supporting your dreams till they make you fly. I have written for social media, blogs, Instagram captions, etc., before making a single dime as a ghostwriter for books. As a matter of fact, my first book sold less than 100 copies in its first year! But now, things are very very different, fortunately. And that great book I wrote but didn’t sell, multiple other attempts and some conviction got me the wings to write this email to you today.
So, my friend, anything that you want to build a life around, could be built.
You just have to make your mind around it. And hold rationality in left hand while you pursue your dream with all your rights (and your right hand)!
Raw lessons of the week:
There is a thin line between positivity and allowing people to walk over you.
If you don’t mean it, don’t pretend. Honest no > dishonest yes.
When in doubt, take some time.
Real Gratitude of the week:
I studied good classes every day of the last week, 2x-3x a day, and meditated for 2-3 hours every day in my meditation centre, along with doing ALL my work on time. And doing it very well. Proud of myself :)
On that note, I want to ask you: What is something you are proud of today, that you used to be disturbed by before? When we celebrate our growth, we celebrate ourselves <3
