1 Raw and Real conversation about work life
Imagine this.
You are hired for one of the most enviable jobs that ever exist.
Paid the best in class salary.
Given the best of work.
Until one day, the work is taken away.
You still have that job.
You still have that class.
You still have that respect.
Just that the work is taken away. Probably for a small time.
And EVERYONE in the company gets to know of that.
What would you do in such a situation?
I know I have been in such a situation before.
Where I felt my self worth depended on “doing” the job, more than anything else.
However, in yesterday’s India vs Bangladesh match, when I saw Virat (who was rested for the match) running with zest and smile serving drinks to his team mates, I had a whole new respect for him.
He is probably the batsman with the best records as of now.
He is richer than most of them (doesn’t matter).
He had all the reasons to walk with attitude. Or even not serve the drinks!
Still he ran like a kid runs out of home to play after finishing up their home work.
Yeah there may be reasons he was rested - that I may not know. But we are not talking about the reasons anyway. We are talking about the attitude behind his actions. And why that matters.
It matters because sometimes you do not control what happens to you, but you always always have the right to control how you feel.
Even if it is different from how you are supposed to feel.
And I wish, Cheeku helps you there.
The next time I do not have an “important” role, I am certainly going to behave like Virat and do the role I have like the most important one.
Because it is!
And I hope you drive the same inspiration from his resting phases as much as his record breaking records.
2 one-liners for life:
Templates win the battle and lose the war.
Authenticity starts with loneliness and ends with a tribe who cares for you.You need NOT be a creator if you want to be successful in life. However, to know the basics of how you can use internet to do anything you want, is what perhaps will make you more aware.
3 gratitudes for life:
The ability to create invoices in Canva. Imagine inputting numbers on a PDF in a software, and getting credits. I am grateful for this a 1000 times each time I create an invoice.
To be able to work out. So many people wanting to get fit do not get out of their couch. I am grateful I get to.
For you all. To know that there are people who look up to listening from you, is like having parents care for you until you reach home late at night. It is silently the strongest thing in many ways. Thank you 🤗
That’s it, ladies and gentlemen!
Have a great Sunday and week ahead.
I’ll see you all next Saturday.
Thank you
Nishtha
Virat is truly a King 👑, I never thought I would learn so much from an "Athlete"... The value he's created for many of us is literally unimaginable
