Let’s go!
1 Raw and Real conversation on Life
When I was in school and college, being a quiet and an introvert kid was considered foolish.
Every single day, we were trained into becoming louder, express our voices with conviction, and basically be more like extroverts. (While it did help extroverts, introverts like me had to do a lot of un-doing later).
Until one day, at the age of 23, I stumbled onto this wonderful book called Quiet by Susan Cain.
I would have to tell you it changed my entire life.
Still does, every single day.
That book made me fell in love with being an introvert, of how we can have strong opinions without being loud, and how you can even go lead the world despite being an introvert.
A lot of people still believe being an introvert means not being able to communicate well to Uber driver or expressing your opinions, while in reality being an introvert simply means being the quiet voice that draws
Fun fact: Introverts love celebrations with their closed ones, and are good at deep conversations and better at texting than to get on a call :)
Today, I am a super confident introvert, do not feel bad saying no to most parties, and am superexcited for the two parties a year I do with my cousins or 3-4 treks I go on with 1-2 people who are deep listeners.
And guess what, it fills up my energy unlike ever before.
So, if you are an introvert, know that it’s okay to take your space and be your “weird” self. And know that you are not being weird, just being normal.
And if you are not an introvert, I can guarantee you are surrounded by some.
I’d respectfully urge you to let them take their space, quiet time and respect it, because that is what makes them.
PS: Y’all do yourself a favour and read Quiet. Thank you :)
2 one-liners:
You don’t need more books. You just need one, that fills you up.
It’s OKAY to quit when not quitting will make you feel hollow.
3 gratitudes:
3 of my cousins are coming over to my place to watch India Pakistan match together. I also came to my hometown for this small reason. Excited to bond with them more than the match :)
Drawing my boundaries. I never did it until I did, and now I’ll always draw them. Period.
Charging point in trains. It has made our lives so convenient that we should thank Railway Department for that :)
That’s it for today, all you wonderful people.
Have a happy weekend and a happier week ahead.
I’ll see you next Saturday.
Nishtha
